60 users

Exchange 2013

Office 2013

The Problem:

When trying to send an excel file as an attachment, some users are getting the error: "General mail failure. Quit Microsoft Excel, restart the mail system, and try again."

It seems to be the same users getting this error no matter what RDS host they are connected to. Other users on the same host are not getting this error..

Troubleshooting tried:

-New outlook profile

-New roaming profile (and thus new HKLU hive)

Does anyone have a solution?

Got the same problem with a customer since friday. There is just one person in the business that encounters this problem.

one Terminal Server, 20 users, Exchange 2010, Office 2013

I tried the following:

1. Mailto: still works

2. Outlook still default mail program

3. All outlook related extensions are default for outlook.

The strange thing is that I can't find any errors in the log.

Are you seeing any errors in your event log that I may have missed in mine?

The poster solved this issue by renaming a Registry key
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\windows messaging subsystem\MSMapiApps
If this is present please Export and rename the "MSMapiApps" hive. Please exit Outlook client before renaming the hive.Also please refer the link below :

Thank you for this. I will try the suggested.

It is a 32-bit Office on a 64 bit OS, so the key is located under the wow6432node key. I will try this tonight and let the users test for a couple of days then get back.. :-)

I just tested this and it did not work :(

any other suggestions?
